NIEUW: ARDBEG TEN CASK STRENGTH
De Ardbeg Ten Cask Strength is een speciale Ardbeg Committee Release en die is vanaf vandaag bij ons, als Ardbeg Embassy, verkrijgbaar! Een ode aan de klassieke 10yo die al meer dan 25 jaar het icoon van Ardbeg is. De introductie van de 10yo in 2000 markeerde de wederopstanding van de distilleerderij en al snel kwam er vraag naar een cask strength variant. In de begin jaren 2000 was die er al eens, in een hele kleine oplage en speciaal voor Japan. Nu voldoet Ardbeg eenmalig aan de vraag die er al ruim 20 jaar is, de meest gevraagde Ardbeg Committee Release is er eindelijk! De Ardbeg Ten Cask Strength heeft gerijpt in American oak bourbon barrels en is gebotteld op vatsterkte van 61,7%, non chill filtered en zonder toevoeging van kleurstoffen.

Official tasting notes:
Nose: Rich, earthy, smoky and spicy, with a marvellous combination of toffee, tar and creosote, coffee grounds and sea sapray. Subtle hints of vanilla and lime manage to fight their way through the smoke, and a few drops of water release some classic Ardbeggian scents, like fennel and bonfire embers.
Palate: The texture is mouth filling and noticeably spicy, and the palate is surprised by an immediate and intense sweetness, reminiscent of smoked cinnamon and paprika. This is then followed by enormous waves of smoky notes – soot, tar, creosote, peat moss and woodsmoke to name a few, but the smokiness is always balanced by a gentle malty/biscuity flavour.
Finish: The aftertaste is mentholic and almost cooling, with hints of eucalyptus and antiseptic lozenges.
